The Internal Conversation Continues As Well
Posted by Laura Chavoen on April 02, 2008
Earlier this week and in a different post, Bud Caddell challenged me to post the goals & objectives for the site redesign here. I understand why he made that challenge, but where I got (and remain!) stuck is that without also sharing Imagination’s Brand vision, mission and values, our organizational goals & objectives, and our users’ needs, the site information doesn’t really have any context.
We talk with all of our clients about how crucial it is that they have clear, measurable objectives for the work we do with then. In many cases, we develop those as part of our work. And we work with each of our clients to clearly tie each of those objectives to their brand, their business objectives and their users’ needs and expectations.
The internal discussion that the title of this post refers to is the conversations that the Management Team here at Imagination has been having over the last few days about posting all of this information. The conversation is everywhere…email, phone calls, hallways, bathroom. I was literally accosted by someone as I was walking into the White Hen down the street to get an afternoon coffee.
The bottom line is that we are nervous. This site is all about the transparency of our site rebuild process, and we’re now struggling with the value and need for organizational transparency. And we’re coming down on both sides of the fence.
I’ll keep you apprised…and encourage members of the Mgmt team to discuss their reservations or support here.
And I’d love to hear your thoughts as well.

I think we can all agree that the point of transparency has been driven home superbly by Laura's admission of going to the White Hen for coffee when there's a perfectly good Starbucks (and Dunkin') within the same walking distance.
