The American Library Association (ALA) partnered with Imagination to create a custom website that would provide thought provoking content, promote the value of libraries and librarians and motivate users to visit their local library branches. ALA wanted their website to motivate the general public to really embrace the library as a vital part of their lives.

With those goals in mind, ALA and Imagination created Atyourlibrary.org, a website that delivered engaging content and raised awareness of the resources, services and programs available at local libraries. ALA also wanted to improve the public's perception of the library as modern, efficient and essential. The website was designed to answer the three main questions that first-time library users may have: What's at the Library? How do I use the Library? and Why use the Library?

Imagination created exclusive digital content such as articles, podcasts and videos that promote library benefits. In addition, a library search function was created to help users find libraries in their area.

As an extended effort to promote library awareness and engage users further, Imagination created a social media campaign that supported the website. Through Twitter and Facebook, the Imagination team encouraged users to visit their libraries through contests and sharing articles and media recommendations.

The ALA wanted its new website to reach out to first-time library users as well as people who hadn't visited their library in a while. Atyourlibrary.org positions the library as a source of knowledge for everyone. The website is focused around community, families, teens, children and job seekers. The website's mission is to encourage and foster long-term relationships between libraries and their patrons, as well as connect libraries with their users through tools and resources.

The main goal of the site was to engage users and promote library awareness. Since atyourlibrary.org launched in April 2009, site traffic has increased by more than 600 percent and the average duration of visits is seven minutes.

"I've collaborated with Imagination Publishing on a variety of projects and have been delighted with the results. Whether it's the creation of a complex website or the unraveling of an old one."
